There are so many things in the world that I have taken for granted,, little things,, mundane. Since becoming a photographer I view the world through a different window,, or LENS, if you want to get cheesy. My husband and I no longer just drive to our destination. We observe our surroundings,, finding joy, amusement and awe in the simplest of things.
I know that I speak for every one of us gals on this trip when I say that. I am AMAZED that we were all together in the same place but took pictures of completely different things,, in our own styles. Through their images I am able to see what I saw, but through their eyes. I can't wait till our next adventure to be awed and truly inspired by these amazing women!!

Jesse came out for the Marfa Trip to hang out with us ladies... getting to know her was a true highlight of the trip. Her husband, Whitney, also ventured to Marfa to visit some old friends so Whitney inevitably ended up joining us for a couple of the adventures where I was able to catch the two of them together.

These two are rich souls and deep wells. It is so refreshing to be able to have soulful conversation about what is really important in life. Jesse is one of those beautiful people that reaches past the surface of trivial things and is able to reach a little deeper. Conversation with her was always so rich, and I think that is mostly because she knows how to give people her ears.

the first best thing about this trip is the incredible women. it's been so refreshing to meet such talented, insightful, kind, wise women. wow. ok. now the second best thing for me was to finally get the chance to see THE marfa lights. after talking to locals, the verdict is that no one including scientists know how or why these things exist. so late the other night we all packed in the cars and drove out to the desert to see them. and there they were. i would tell you more about them but i think sarah rhoads has the best description. ask her. mysterylights.jpg
