THROUGH MINE OWN EYES (Lyndzee of EP)

There are so many things in the world that I have taken for granted,, little things,, mundane. Since becoming a photographer I view the world through a different window,, or LENS, if you want to get cheesy. My husband and I no longer just drive to our destination. We observe our surroundings,, finding joy, amusement and awe in the simplest of things.
I know that I speak for every one of us gals on this trip when I say that. I am AMAZED that we were all together in the same place but took pictures of completely different things,, in our own styles. Through their images I am able to see what I saw, but through their eyes. I can't wait till our next adventure to be awed and truly inspired by these amazing women!!

THE LAST OF OUR KIND [Lyndzee of EPlove]

Yes, it's true. We were the last 6 of all of our compadres' to leave our beloved Marfa. So what did we do? We took extremely unflattering pictures with a fisheye to share with you..........just for you. I'd have to say that Brooke wins. The double fist pump was a sure victory.

ghost town [millie holloman]

On day 3 we headed out to a ghost town to take a little peek around and grab some photos.

I decided to take a little walk in ghost town to head up by some more abandoned homes. I was just walking along whistling and minding my own business when I looked down and saw this... yikes, it's a good thing I looked down or this would have been my next step.

a bittersweet taste [brooke schwab]

if you get 13 girls together, you find out quickly that we never stopped talking and doing. i was honored to see what became of this amazing group of women and realized quickly that it was a "God thing" that we were there. i know for sure that i have made some amazing life long friends. i will miss the late night rendezvous that we took and the deep conversations that took place.

here are some shots from wednesday night. we drove down to the prada marfa store after our dinner. i want a pair of those amazing kicks. good thing there was only one left shoe in the store, it kept me from breaking the glass to go in and get some!

this shot is taken of a large semi truck driving by. you get a tiny piece of the wheel on the right side of the shot.

I didn't realize the Prada store was still there. What highway is this on? I thought it was on the road to Valentine, but I didn't find it. Pleaze pleaze pleaze don't keep this a secret from me.

marfa won my heart [millie holloman]

I am loving the solitude of Marfa, being away from everyday life and surrounded by these 12 other amazing women is better than I ever imagined it would be!

On day one Melanie, Davina, & I rented bikes to tour the city of Marfa (which didn't take more than an hour despite our stop on every block) to capture a little character and charm of this lovely little place. Marfa has won my heart for sure!

After we finished up our little ride through the town we headed back to the Thunderbird to catch up with the rest of the girls for a walk around... there isn't much else to do here but visit dairy queen, chat, walk, bike, and take photos.

Armpits and Roses [lyndzee ellsworth]

Some might say that Marfa is the armpit of Texas,, kinda like Blythe is the armpit of California.......not true. On the Marfa part that is... the Blythe thing is totally legit. Anyway,, Marfa is a desert rose: awesome landscapes, charming buildings, and insanely dreamy skies complete with Mario Brothers clouds and lightning storms..........for real.

screaming in Marfa!!!! [marfa girls]

Today we went on an off road adventure. We went to the middle of Marfa no where, a five hour long road trip with ghost towns, canyons, roadside cemeteries', border patrol, mexican immigrants, and loose asses (as in donkeys). We decided it would be therapeutic to scream in the middle of a junk yard in the middle of a desert, so we did! P.S. Shannon Sewell is not featured in this video because she is peeing behind a bush. - Millie & Sarah & Brooke

day one [millie holloman]

We arrived in Marfa on Sunday and spent most of the day chatting it up and waiting for our complete group of 13 to arrive. We didn't take a lot of images on day one but for day two, there will be a lot so stay tuned! We are loving Marfa, toasting to new friendships and enjoying one another's company and inspiration.
