THROUGH MINE OWN EYES (Lyndzee of EP)

There are so many things in the world that I have taken for granted,, little things,, mundane. Since becoming a photographer I view the world through a different window,, or LENS, if you want to get cheesy. My husband and I no longer just drive to our destination. We observe our surroundings,, finding joy, amusement and awe in the simplest of things.
I know that I speak for every one of us gals on this trip when I say that. I am AMAZED that we were all together in the same place but took pictures of completely different things,, in our own styles. Through their images I am able to see what I saw, but through their eyes. I can't wait till our next adventure to be awed and truly inspired by these amazing women!!

THE LAST OF OUR KIND [Lyndzee of EPlove]

Yes, it's true. We were the last 6 of all of our compadres' to leave our beloved Marfa. So what did we do? We took extremely unflattering pictures with a fisheye to share with you..........just for you. I'd have to say that Brooke wins. The double fist pump was a sure victory.

faces and graces... [brooke schwab] and [our labor of love]

seeing that this is our first trip ever we were not knowing what to expect nor did we think about how to blog. our grand ideas of putting a photo of every single lady up on the blog did not happen. maybe it was because we were too distracted of the fun to be had? or maybe it was because we wanted to enjoy our time together with out a camera in our face. i would like to say that i wish i had enough time to spend with every girl to take a photo of their beautiful face! we did however manage to grab a fun shot of all of us ladies on the west texas land. this trip was beyond amazing and it was because of each of these girls!

to all my beautiful friends, thanks for the amazing week. i feel closer to life because of all of you!

in her car across texas or traveling the world.
carmen: she loves to hear your side of the story. she makes you feel like even the mundane aspects of your life are extraordinary.
melanie: can sure say the sweetest things. i am smiling just thinking of her voice.
millie: her laughter comes deep within. she cares deeply.
davina: i feel like i could tell anything and she would understand.
jesse: her passion in life is unreal. i feel like we have been friends forever.

amy: genuine and down to earth....desires to be scene for who she truly is.
cheryl: can make your stomach hurt from laughing so hard! love her bold personality.
shannon: she seeks out the yummy things in life and does not give much weight to the bad.
laura: has a strong spirit.....she knows who she is and she will not waiver!
lyndzee: she has a very fresh spirit and holds her head up high.

a bittersweet taste [brooke schwab]

if you get 13 girls together, you find out quickly that we never stopped talking and doing. i was honored to see what became of this amazing group of women and realized quickly that it was a "God thing" that we were there. i know for sure that i have made some amazing life long friends. i will miss the late night rendezvous that we took and the deep conversations that took place.

here are some shots from wednesday night. we drove down to the prada marfa store after our dinner. i want a pair of those amazing kicks. good thing there was only one left shoe in the store, it kept me from breaking the glass to go in and get some!

this shot is taken of a large semi truck driving by. you get a tiny piece of the wheel on the right side of the shot.

Shut the Front Door!! [sarah rhoads]

So I cut my Marfa experience a bit short Wednesday to be back to Seattle for a wedding I had Thursday. While I waited for my flight in the DFW airport I was able to edit a couple snaps from the trip.

I can't even begin to express the good times that I had with these beautiful women. It was so refreshing for me and I came back with lots of new friends and great idea's. Sometimes getting away with some lady-friends in the industry is just what you need. I feel totally refreshed. re-energized and ready to take on the world ;)

These girls encouraged the crap out of me. We had lots of soul talks while riding around on banana bikes and good laughs over margarita's and you tube video's! Miss em' already... can't wait for the next adventure!

Isn't the font on this building SICK?!? The typefaces of Marfa were genius.

Some might say that Marfa is the armpit of Texas,, kinda like Blythe is the armpit of California.......not true. On the Marfa part that is... the Blythe thing is totally legit. Anyway,, Marfa is a desert rose: awesome landscapes, charming buildings, and insanely dreamy skies complete with Mario Brothers clouds and lightning storms..........for real.
