Marfa was about being in the center of beautiful nowhere... and driving for hours and hours to get there. Going hundreds of miles without seeing a single car, person, building... then, out of nowhere, there is a cemetery. Not like one I've seen before... it was beautiful in the most simple, hand touched & serene way. So many graves marked only with piled rocks and hand-crafted crosses of pipe or weathered wood. Sitting amongst them, you could feel the presence & weight of the people that worked so hard to lay their loved ones to rest on a hillside in the beautiful desert land. It was peace...
