Marfa skies are some of the most beautiful skies I've seen.  Every time I would walk outside I just couldn't help myself...I would take yet another picture of the sky.  Everywhere we went the blue was gorgeous and those fluffy clouds look good enough to curl up with a good book and read on while drifting over the top of the world.

I remember floating in the Thunderbird's blue pool on a couple of afternoons and looking up at that blue sky, imagining what it would be like to be part of that immensity of space.  My ears under the water washing away the sounds of the world and filling up with the peaceful sounds and an art filled sky to gaze at...

Being enveloped for five days by that peaceful sky is something I won't forget.

Davina! You always seem to grasp the beauty of the skies- these are beatiful and really put off the vibe of marfa for those of us that get to imagine it rather than experience it- great work as always!

The signs around Marfa like the one below always made me laugh, that's just the way Marfa is. It's the kind of town where everybody knows everybody and they do what they want, when they want. It seems that most people who live in this small town, wound up in Marfa to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. They escaped to a place where they could live like they want and work when they want so that's just what they do!

if you get 13 girls together, you find out quickly that we never stopped talking and doing.  i was honored to see what became of this amazing group of women and realized quickly that it was a "God thing" that we were there.  i know for sure that i have made some amazing life long friends.  i will miss the late night rendezvous that we took and the deep conversations that took place.

here are some shots from wednesday night.  we drove down to the prada marfa store after our dinner.  i want a pair of those amazing kicks.  good thing there was only one left shoe in the store, it kept me from breaking the glass to go in and get some!

this shot is taken of a large semi truck driving by.  you get a tiny piece of the wheel on the right side of the shot.

I didn't realize the Prada store was still there. What highway is this on? I thought it was on the road to Valentine, but I didn't find it. Pleaze pleaze pleaze don't keep this a secret from me.

marfa is beautiful yet rugged.  we went not knowing exactly what we'd find - and somewhere between second 1 and second 2 we found fast friendship, inspiration and days that will always dance in our minds as a wonderful adventure.  is summer a crazy time to pack our bags and spend time together since it's often when we're at our busiest? perhaps, but somehow that made it even more perfect.  here we are in the midst of the "busy season" refreshed and enlivened.  here's to creative work, to friendship and to marfa.  -m-

it's not what we have in our life, but who we have in our life that counts. [ j.m. lawrence ]
